Meet Shenaya

What makes me come alive?

Whether you are curious about counselling, seeking change, or hoping to understand yourself better, I want you to know that it takes great courage to acknowledge your need for support. I have had the privilege of supporting clients from all walks of life as they navigate mental health challenges, heal from trauma, and develop a healthy relationship within themselves and with others.

My heart as a therapist is to provide a safe relationship rooted in trust, where you are able to process emotion, practice helpful skills, and experience meaningful growth. I aim to walk alongside you on the journey of self-discovery and healing, and to nurture a sense of self-compassion from within.

I believe that as we explore the meaning beneath our emotions and allow ourselves to feel, we often find hope and healing on the other side. My approach to therapy is emotion-focused and body based, which seeks to understand the root of your struggles and promote growth from the inside out. I also incorporate other evidence-based interventions to best support your unique goals for therapy. I view humanity through a holistic lens, and am passionate about empowering others to reconnect with their bodies.

I enjoy helping university students, adults, and couples as they navigate challenges like chronic illness, depression, anxiety, life transitions, communication difficulties, challenging relationships, spiritual growth, self-esteem, and trauma. I have previous experience supporting patients and their families navigate cancer diagnoses; I also have experience supporting clients with a Christian faith background.
