Barbara Egan, MA, LPC, RCC, ACS, former elite athlete and professional coach, international speaker and author, is the owner and founder of Alive Counselling, an award-winning mental health clinic of 19 therapists in Kelowna, BC. She is a licensed therapist in both the United States and Canada (Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee). Barbara has been named a finalist for Citizen of the Year and Top 40 Under 40, and has been voted Best of Kelowna in Psychology Clinic, Clinical Counsellor, and Therapist every year since 2023.

Before becoming a therapist, Barbara was a USA Hockey Olympic Development athlete, 2x USA Hockey National Champion with Shattuck St.Mary’s, and an NCAA Division I alum at Ohio State. After a career-ending wrist injury, she was a professional coach with Ohio State, the University of British Columbia, and Pursuit of Excellence (now RINK Hockey Academy) in the CSSHL, BC Hockey, and Hockey Canada. Beyond the therapy room, she is a sought-after speaker who brings clinical, evidence-informed mental health content to organizations, conferences, and high-performance teams across North America. She is also a wife and homeschooling mom of 4.

Hockey Ministries International โ€” Memorial Cup Breakfast

Barbara has spoken at the soldout Hockey Ministries International Memorial Cup Breakfast, held alongside the CHL Memorial Cup in Kelowna and hosted by the WHL Kelowna Rockets, joining NHL players and professional musicians for a morning centered on faith and hockey.
